Where It started

Growing up beauty and self care was not something I was taught or experienced. Taking care of my hair consisted of a 2-in-1 shampoo and a haircut once every year right before school started. Usually my hair was matted so badly from never brushing it, I would leave the salon with a messy chopped off bob because "detangling is too expensive." I hated my hair, the way I looked, I struggled to take pride in myself and my appearance and my self esteem suffered for it. I learned how to play with at-home hair dye and even though it ended in many catastrophes I loved how it felt to express myself and the feelings that came every time I got a "new look."

I've had my fair share of struggles to say the least, and I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. After countless jobs and being exhausted with the rat race I decided I was going to give something a shot and cosmetology school sounded fun. It was only a year and if I hated it, I would just look for something else. That small decision turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. School sucked, but for me the magic was watching the eyes of my clients light up at the end of each appointment. To see how happy and excited they were to look in the mirror and love what they see. I loved learning something new from each person in my chair and the connections I experienced with each new head of hair. 

I worked out of my house for a long time, just doing friends by word of mouth. I moved and upgraded to a room in my new house with a shampoo bowl, and I now have achieved my dream of building a salon space in my own back yard. Literal blood, sweat and tears went into building this beautiful space where my clients can come and truly relax, unwind, and be transformed. I pinch myself every day and I don't believe it's real sometimes. 

I believe that beauty comes from within, but it's a heck of a lot easier to to feel beautiful when you like what you see in the mirror. My passion is to eliminate the barriers to a luxury that can truly make an impact on someone's day to day life. My space is private, the atmosphere is comfortable, my hours are flexible to accommodate any schedule, and my prices are transparent and modest. Self care isn't a luxury, it's a necessity, and my hope is that I can help as many people as possible love what they see in the mirror every day.
